Need help with zCycle for Mac or zCycle Ride for iOS? We are here to help.

System requirements

zCycle for Mac

• macOS 13 or later with Bluetooth
• FTMS-compatible smart trainer and/or BLE heart rate monitor

Install zCycle on Mac

1. Download the DMG from dl.zcycle.app/release/zCycle.dmg or the button on zcycle.app.
2. Open zCycle.dmg and drag zCycle to your Applications folder.
3. Launch zCycle from Applications. The app is Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple — no extra steps needed.
4. On first launch, allow Bluetooth when macOS asks so zCycle can pair with your trainer and heart rate monitor.

zCycle Ride for iOS

• iOS 17 or later (iPhone or iPad)
• zCycle for Mac running on the same Wi‑Fi network
• Optional: Apple Health and iCloud for profile sync and workout export

Frequently asked questions

The iOS app cannot find my Mac

• Make sure zCycle is open on your Mac and both devices are on the same Wi‑Fi network.
• Allow local network access when iOS prompts you.
• Try entering your Mac’s IP address manually in the Connect tab.
• Check that VPNs or guest networks are not isolating devices.

My trainer or heart rate monitor will not connect (Mac)

• Enable Bluetooth on your Mac and wake the sensor or trainer.
• In zCycle Settings, scan for devices and pair again.
• Quit other apps that may be using the trainer (Zwift, TrainerRoad, etc.).

Apple Health workouts are not saving

• Open zCycle Ride and allow Health access when prompted.
• Confirm auto-save is enabled in the app settings.
• A workout is saved when the Mac reports a completed ride.

Where is my data stored?

Rides and profiles are stored locally on your Mac. On iOS, data is stored on your device and may sync to your private iCloud account. We do not host your ride history on zCycle servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
